Africa Biomes is a small African owned company based in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. It was founded in 2009 by JJ, an experienced overland tour leader. JJ has been leading tours for some of the major overland companies throughout East and Southern Africa for the past twelve years. He founded the company as he recognized the increase in demand for local tour operators, as well as the need to promote responsible and sustainable tourism.
At Africa Biomes we offer comfortable and affordable Africa holidays to small groups of three to twelve people. This guarantees our travellers receive a personalized service from our tour leader/guide, something that cannot be achieved when travelling in large groups. Our specifically designed Africa tours and safaris will take you through some of Africa's most fascinating and diverse regions. Our set tours range from 3 to 20 days and are packed with a combination of wildlife safaris, historical and geological sites, adventure activities, cultural tours etc. With this variety, there is bound to be a trip to suit you.
As a small locally owned operator we understand and acknowledge the importance of preserving and protecting our environment and local traditions & cultures from the footprints that we leave behind.
We use secure third-party payment methods and never retain credit card details. We have a variety of payment options to choose from.
We do not substitute genuine excursions for cheaper or shorter options, ensuring that you experience in full the real Africa.
We offer endless customization options to accommodate a variety of destinations for groups of any size.
Both Dube and Bachi were amazing. Bachi is an amazing cook. 100% loved it and would come back.
The men that led this trip went above and beyond everyday. The meals were to die for! I wish I could bring our cook home! Mike and Bachi were always happy and helpful and were a huge part of my experience in Africa. I wouldn’t have had such an amazing time without them.
Very competitively priced given the quality of service. We were really pleased. We really loved the tour and were very well looked after by Agnes and Moffat. All meals were delicious. Tents were solid and large. The national parks were nice and had good facilities. We were also very pleased with the transport, and were particularly grateful to be picked up and dropped off at the airport.
Agnes and Moffat were great tour guides, friendly and helped us feel at ease for our first African trip. They cooked great food & found out what we liked and didn’t like and made our favourite foods. Both really made our trip a fantastic trip and even went out of the way to help Troy celebrate his birthday. My complaint for payment methods is directed at the company payment policy as the trip itself was amazing and we will miss Moffat and Agnes.
We had a very well organized trip. The overnight stays were partly in tents and hotel rooms. The catering and personal care was excellent. The experienced tour guide gave us incredibly impressive encounters with animals. Flora and fauna as well as national culture were brought to us deeply.
The service definitely exceeded our expectations. Both JJ and Moffat did a fantastic job in giving us not only great service, but they also showed their flexibility and interest in us. It was this, that really made our holiday unforgettable. Obviously, we knew we were going to be overnighting in tents- facilities therefore are not the same as in a 5 star hotel, however facilities in the campsites were good (especially Chobe Safari Lodge). JJ is a fantastic chef and we thought that breakfasts, lunches and dinners alone are a good reason to book again! We had such a good time and it feels like we have two new friends. We might book again with JJ Africa sometime! We had an amazing time!
Justin was a superb tour leader who helped keep us on schedule and do the activities WE were interested in. The meals prepared were excellent and he even prepared delicious vegetarian meals of which our favourites were the mac and cheese and stir fry! We also loved the traditional beef stew over pap! Justin took great care of us from beginning to end and was always on time, and ensured our meals were ready at the scheduled time. We were very pleased with the tour and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Africa Biomes to others!
This trip was excellent and our expectations were more than fulfilled. The meals were delicious! The camping gear and the selection of lodges/campgrounds were excellent. The truck was very clean and perfect for our tour. This safari was a very good value for money. We hope for another tour with JJ and his crew and we would definitely recommend Africa Biomes to family and friends.
It was the trip of a lifetime. Now, early in the morning, it is not the call of the fish eagle, nor the tik-tik of the lapwing, it is not the laughter of a hyena, nor the roar of a lion or the bark of a zebra – it’s the twitter of more familiar birds and the tolling of church bells at seven. Grateful bones, appreciating a comfortable bed. Hot, clean water from the showerhead, instead of the hopeful search for a warm dribble. No protesting knees when performing bodily functions. Pure bliss!
But: A heart full of sadness because the trip of a lifetime we would not have missed for the world has come to an end. Already and again: A deep longing for Africa! The feeling of having been driven out of paradise, our familiar homeland, will prevail. As will be the yearning for Africa’s untamed beauty, it’s warmhearted and cheerful people who know how to seize the day and enjoy the moment, instead of ceaselessly pondering the future and what it may hold in store. The extreme conditions on this continent do not allow much control of what will happen. The challenges are much bigger there than they are for us with all our material riches. Yet, the laughter of Africans comes deep from the heart.
Highly recommend travelling with JJ and his crew without hesitation. Our needs were catered to and the meals were excellent.
JJ, this trip was fantastic. I would like to say that it is because of careful planning on my part, but this year we still did most of the same things and stayed at the same places I have gone in the past…so I don’t think I get much credit. But Mr. Dube and Mr. Baachi…they do get a great deal of credit from me for making this trip a great success. The truck was important, for sure, but it was the two people who ran that truck – Dube and Baachi – that really made it so enjoyable.
